You should know, Patrick, that it was Tides of History that brought so much meaning to my midlife-chrisis as a European immigrant, dad of 3 little rascles and absolutely no education in history. Now I'm that Dad that gets excited at the sight of a memorial statue and can't shut up about the importance of the printing press. Most of my dad advice now starts with "a long time ago, people didn't have....", to which my 6yr old has already perfected his eye-roll response.
